The Esports World Cup (EWC) is one of the largest international Esports tournaments, seeing teams from all over the world competing across multiple games. This summer, the tournament is held at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. How the group stage and playoffs work
Black Ops 7 matches are played as 4v4 between 2 teams. While Call of Duty: Warzone is a battle royale game, Black Ops 7 sees players battling across a map to attack, defend and control objectives.
16 teams are split into 2 groups of 8 for the group stage. Each group follows a double-elimination bracket format, with matches played to the best of 5 games. The top 4 teams from each group will qualify for the playoffs.
The playoffs feature a single elimination bracket, with upper bracket teams drawn at random against lower bracket opposition. Teams from the same group can’t be drawn against each other. Matches during this stage are played to the best of 7 games, but the Grand Final is a best-of-9 series.
